Boiled Mao Dou ë


It's a common snack, especially in the summer during Mao Dou season. Good food for babies too. Mao Dou can be used for a stand alone vegetable too or a stir fry dish with meat. I don't really know the english name, will welcome input :)

Ingredients:
Mao Dou ë 1 lb
Ginger 1 cm, slice
Green onion 3 cm, slice
Star anise 1
Salt, 1/2 tablespoon (up to your taste)
Si Chuan Pepper 1 teaspoon (up to your taste)


Direction:
. Put lots of water in a pot or pressure cooker until the mao dou are well covered.
. Cook for 1/2 hr with pressure cooker for very tender Mao Dou. Use regular pot for 30 minutes for a not so tender one.
